Configuration Options

Stardew Valley Expanded has multiple configuration settings that you can change based on preference. You can change these by directly editing the config.jsonafter installing the mod and launching the game, but it is strongly recommended to utilize the Generic Mod Config Menu (GMCM) mod, which displays configuration settings in a user-friendly UI accessible from the title menu.

SVE Options

Warp Location
  • A dropdown with options to determine where the Enchanted Grove warp will deposit the farmer.
  • default = Places the warp point to match the vanilla Farm Totem warp point. Select this for SVE or Vanilla maps.
  • Custom = Allows players to move the warp, using the "Enchanted Grove Warp X" and "Enchanted Grove Warp Y" sliders.
  • Grandpa's Shed = Select this option if using a custom farm map to move the warp point off the farm and by Grandpa's Shed instead. Has no function if using SVE or Vanilla maps.

Seasonal Edits Adds seasonal changes to buildings and objects; automatically adjusts colors for Starblue Valley and Eemie recolors. ON
Replace Default Fences Changes the fence sprites throughout the valley; automatically adjusts colors for Starblue Valley and Eemie recolors. ON
Replace Hardwood Fences Changes the Hardwood Fence sprites; automatically adjusts colors for Starblue Valley and Eemie recolors. OFF
Immersive Shadows Adds shadows to buildings and other large objects throughout the valley. ON
Mist Effects Adds mist to many locations during rainy days.
Warning.png This impacts performance. It is strongly recommended to disable this option if you experience lag on rainy days.

SVECommunityBundles Adds SVE items to Community Center Bundle requirements.

Original Mines Entrance Moves the Mines Entrance back to its vanilla location rather than on the Adventurer's Summit, reducing time it takes to walk to the mines. OFF
Alternative Craftables Changes the design of several vanilla machines: Furnace, Charcoal Kiln, Bee House, Keg, Seed Maker, Cheese Press, and Mayonnaise Machine OFF
Remove Objects from GrandpasShed Once unlocked, this option removes all of the permanent decorations in the greenhouse interior on the second floor of Grandpa's Shed. OFF
Remove Southern Cactuses from Desert Removes a number of cacti in the southern part of Calico Desert to allow for easier placement of objects such as kegs. OFF
Disable SVE Joja Mart Shop Removes the edits to the vanilla JojaMart, giving other mods edit priority OFF
Balanced Crafting Adjusts crafting to require more or additional resources while making others easier to craft.
Warning.png Recommended to select this option if players are using the Automate mod or Frontier/Immersive Farm 2 Remastered maps to better balance resource intake.

Harder Building Construction Buildings require increased materials and cost more to construct. OFF
Stronger Monsters Monsters deal double damage to players and have slight HP increases. Shadow Brutes and Mummies have significantly increased HP and damage buffs. OFF
ChallengingMarshlands Increases spawn rates of ghost waves and swamp golems in the Forbidden Maze. More forage spawns as well. OFF
ChallengingHighlandsCavern Increases monster spawn rates as well as gem and mineral spawn rates. OFF
ChallengingBadlands Dramatically increases monster spawn rates and the difficulty in traversing the Crimson Badlands.
Warning.png This option demands higher computer resources, so having a strong PC is recommended.

LowMemoryBadlands Massively reduces monster spawns in the Crimson Badlands to compensate for lower-memory devices. OFF

Mature Events Adds 10 more events that contain extremely serious topics, dark undertones, and moral ambiguity. OFF
Shorter Path to Blue Moon Vineyard Moves the Cindersap Forest to Blue Moon Vineyard warp point closer to Fairhaven Farm to minimize travel time. OFF
GaldolranGemMuseumMoveable Allows to Galdoran Gem to be donated to the Stardew Valley Museum.
Warning.png This option is strongly recommended for players migrating existing saves from previous SVE versions to prevent being soft-locked from moving the gem to another museum location.

Use Galdoran Theme All Times Changes the UI to the Galdoran Theme at all times. OFF
Disable Galdoran Theme Disables the Galdoran Theme UI for all locations. This option is useful for players who already have a mod editing the UI. OFF

Frontier Farm Options

Grandpa's Farm Options

Immersive Farm 2 Remastered Options

Farm_Sandbox_Layout Transforms IF2R into a more standard farm map, excluding predetermined crop fields, shed building, and static fences. Players may set this configuration to “true” on existing SVE saves using IF2R. OFF
Farm_Light_Debris Balances resource intake and makes the farmland more manageable.
