  1. Download the mod and all of its requirements.
  2. Using a program capable of unzipping zipped-up files, unzip your downloaded mods.
  3. For a first-time installation, see First Time Install
  4. For existing saves: see Updating/Reinstalling

Requirements (aka "Dependencies")

Mod Name
Content Patcher
Farm Type Manager (FTM)

First Time Install

For a first time installation:

  1. Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of SMAPI.
  2. Download Stardew Valley Expanded and all of the required mods listed above.
  3. Locate your "Mods" folder (click here for instructions on how to find your mods folder).
  4. Unzip each of the mod files and place into your "Mods" folder.

Optional Files

When adding SVE to a new save, you have the option to also utilize different Farm Map layouts. If you decide to use one of these new maps, pick only one to download.

Warning.png Installing all of them will result in problems.
Farm Map Name
Frontier Farm
Grandpa's Farm
Immersive Farm 2 Remastered

You will also have the option to install Grampleton Fields, which is a large farmable area located east of Shearwater Bridge.

Updating/Reinstalling

When updating/reinstalling Stardew Valley Expanded, it is critical to delete any existing versions before placing the new files in your Mods folder. Deleting older versions will not harm your save files. Follow the same steps as for a first-time installation.

Warning.png Overwriting files will cause problems.

If adding Stardew Valley Expanded for the first time to an existing save (not recommended for storyline reasons), you will need to take additional steps.

  1. Download and install Reset Terrain Features. See the mod page for instructions on how to open the menu. You will need to reset all trees, bushes, and terrain features. If you don't, terrain features will be out of sync and won't make sense.
  2. Download and install Noclip Mode, which could be needed to access areas made inaccessible by the changes.
  3. Optionally, download and install CJB Cheats and CJB Item Spawner, which can be used to pause time and manually place grass starters, respectively.
