Lance is an adventurer hailing from The First Slash Clan of Fable Reef. He is one of the 7 marriage candidates added by Stardew Valley Expanded.

He is known as one of the protectors of the Fern Islands. Personality-wise, Lance appears confident and considers the Player an adventurer of some renown by the time they meet.

Schedule

Lance will begin adhering to his regular schedule after viewing his introduction cutscene by entering the Volcano's forge on Ginger Island. He rotates between Castle Village Outpost, the Adventurer's Guild, Ginger Island, and The Highlands.

Conditions:	Occurs when the player enters the Caldera Volcano's Forge.
Description	The Forge   As the Farmer approaches the forge, Lance fades in, and expresses he is impressed they have scaled the volcano. Lance reveals the volcano was once home to a kingdom of dwarves, and was known as Mount Kohldur. He proceeds to explain the forge behind him is a relic of that kingdom: a lava-fueled device, with the ability to forge weapons and combine rings. He gives his guild's regards, before fading away.

Description	The Forge   When the farmer exits their farmhouse, Lance is standing at the front door. He greets them and says that he hopes he's not intruding. He says that he's been contracted to work with the Pelican Town adventurer's guild and admits that he would like to get to know the farmer better, but he moves around a lot. He gives the farmer his schedule before leaving.

Laughing over the Farmer's surprised reaction, Lance bids them farewell.

Conditions:	Player has reached the volcano caldera, has completed the Enchanted Grove questline, and has fixed the island house, bridge, and resort.
Description	Blink Relic   The Farmer walks toward the beach south of their cabin where Lance appears from thin air and comments on the weather. Lance apologizes to the startled Farmer, saying he wishes to speak to them. He has patrolled Ginger Island for a long while before their arrival, and he's observed all the ways their work has improved the island. He's encountered many adventurers, but none quite so mysterious to him. He asks if they are familiar with magic relics. Lance, surprised they haven't, shares that many magical artifacts are hiding around the world, and he has a few of them. He hands a magical staff called the Blink Relic over to the Farmer and says to use it to follow him to a nearby cliff. Using another relic of the same type, Lance teleports to the nearby cliff, and the Farmer follows. He comments on the view, and the camera pans over the coral reef. After, he asks if the Farmer knows about the wrecked ship on the beach. It crashed on the reef and some survivors made it onto the island. Lance is silent for a moment, then asks whether Camilla has mentioned visiting Castle Village, and comments that Magnus has been openly speaking about the Farmer's magic talent. He ponders whether Camilla is still waiting on something, or testing the Farmer. The two use the relics to return to the beach. Lance says he doesn't need a test beyond their relic practice just now, since the Farmer used it as if they'd been doing so all along. The Farmer returns the Blink Relic to Lance, who says that whatever Camilla is up to, they'll both know soon. He says goodbye, then fades from sight.

Conditions:	Player has unlocked the Highlands zone.
Description	Field Study   The Farmer walks up to the Highland Outpost Tower. Lance, who stands on top of the tower, notices the farmer, welcomes them and tells them to come to him. Lance explains, how the magical wards that surround the tower inflict a shock on approaching monsters and cause them to turn away from the Outpost. Lance proceeds to ask the farmer if they were willing to help him with a field study he wishes to conduct. The farmer shows excitement and Lance casts a spell on both of them in order to prevent monsters from noticing them. Together Lance and the farmer observe the behaviour of a variety of monsters in the wild, untouched by human interference. The monsters are shown to peacefully coexist with each other and their environment. The trip through the Highlands ends in the Highlands Cavern, where Lance explains that he suspects that the key to understanding the origins of the Cave lie in the Gemfish that live in the nearby body of water. However Lance has to admit, that so far he has been unable to catch one and claims that only an experienced angler could catch a Gemfish. Shortly afterwards the protection spell, that had shielded Lance and the Farmer thus far, runs out and in the face of approaching danger, Lance teleports both of them back to the Outpost. Lance thanks the farmer for their help and tells them, that he hopes the farmer learned something new during the day.

Description	First Slash   Lance arrives at the Farm and thanks the Farmer once more for helping with his research regarding the monster crops. He explains that he would like to present his research to the First Slash guild and invites the Farmer to come along. He leads the Farmer to a hidden warp rune, while explaining that the First Slash hails from an island that is so far away, that it can only be reached via warp rune. Upon arrival Lance and the Farmer are met with a warm welcome from Lances friends and the guild leader Jolyne. Everyone seems very impressed with the monster crops.

Description	Life on Fable Reef   Lance arrives at the farm and explains that he will be busy with guild related activities today and says, that he would like the farmer to accompany him. He wants the Farmer to experience what a day at the First Slash is like. The Farmer is prompted to either use the warp rune in Magnus' Nexus, or in the secret grove on Ginger Island. Lance explains that he took the liberty to clear a path to it, which is located on the cliff behind the island farmhouse.

Part II

Conditions:	Player has seen part I of his 10-heart event.
Description	Life on Fable Reef   Upon arrival at Fable Reef, the Farmer is greeted by Lance, who suggests that they start the day by patrolling the island. It follows a short montage, just like in the six heart event. Lance and the Farmer are shown on the beach, observing a swarm of Torpedo Trouts. Lance shows the Farmer how to make mana elixirs in the guild hall. They spent some quality time with Lance's friends, watching the ocean and standing around a campfire. The other guild members are shown to be very nice to the Farmer. The day ends in a sparingly decorated bedroom. Then suddenly Lance takes off his clothes and, while in his underwear, proclaims that the bed is only designed to fit one person and that he is not sure whether both him and the Farmer will be able to sleep in it. In the dialogue box we are informed that Lance has a very muscular statue. I think we could make it work... It turns out, that there was actually enough room for two people after all. Lance and the Farmer share a kiss. I'm going to head out. This was fun. Lance chuckles, wishes the Farmer safe travels and states that the Farmer is always welcome at Fable Reef.

Conditions:	Player has fully upgraded the farmhouse and has bought the Return Scepter from Krobus.
Description	Return Scepter   Lance says that he has been meaning to ask the Farmer where they acquired the return scepter, since it is a powerful magical artefact. After the Farmer tells the story, Lance chuckles until slowly realising that the Farmer wasn't joking, and that they, in fact, got it from a friendly shadowperson. Lance has a hard time believing that the Farmer actually befriended someone like that and says that he would like to meet Krobus first thing in the morning.

Description	The Farmer leads Lance into the sewers. Krobus immediatly recognizes Lance as the Farmers life partner based on smell alone. Lance remarks on Krobus' impeccable senses and friendly introductions ensue. Then Lance expresses that based on his previous experiences with shadowpeople, he couldn't quite believe that Krobus would be so friendly. Krobus says, that they feel sorry, that Lance had bad experiences with their people. Lance proceeds to call Krobus special and remarks on Krobus short height, compared to other shadowpeople and shows concern about Krobus' nutrition. They seem unbothered though, and explain that they sustain themselves based on flies from the sewers and whatever they can find in the garbage cans around town. Lance seems unhappy with that answer and tells Krobus that that is in no way adequate for them and teleports away to fetch Krobus a void root. Krobus tells the player, that Lance seems nice. After eating the void root, Krobus seems very happy. After the cutscene ends, Lance will tell the Farmer, that he got along with Krobus really well and that both of them would like to meet up again. From now on, both will meet on the 10th and 24th of each season at night at the sewer gate below Fairhaven Farm.
